Weekend Getaway to Millennium Resort Mussanah

Hello everyone,

I am back again with a great getaway option for all you guys. I keep on hearing from friends, that what do we do on a weekend here in muscat. Specially, when it comes to planning activities for kids. We normally end up taking our kids to either beach, garden or a play area in the mall. Are you keen on doing something different this weekend. Let me share with you guys about my last weekend experiences at Millennium Resort, Mussanah.

Friday morning after having breakfast , we packed our bags for a staycation  to the resort. The surprising fact was, it just took us an hour to reach the resort. I have been there before for corporate lunch & events. But this was my first time to stay with them.

Location :

This stunning property is located  in Musannah, Al Batinah region which is about an hour drive from Muscat. The resort is about 80 kms away from the Muscat International Airport. Its a perfect relaxation spot , with panoramic views over the Hajar Mountains and Gulf of Oman.

Check-in/ Check-out:

Even though the resort was quite packed with the guests. It didn’t take  us more than 10 min to complete the check-in formalities. Soon after the check-in we were escorted to our suite, which was on the top floor of the hotel. While leaving the resort it was as smooth as the check in. Bills were kept ready before we reached the reception. As compared to my recent stay cation experiences, this was was one of the quickest.

Hotel Interiors & Lobby:

The resort has a contemporary modern design. The lobby was spacious, very well lit up. All the information related to spa offers, sailing activities & other ongoing activities can be easily fetched from there itself. The beach front was very much visible from the lobby.

The Room

We weren’t aware about the room upgrade to suite facing marina front. It came to us as  an surprise. The suite was very well equipped with a fast speed WiFi connection, large wardrobes to fit in all your stuff,  hair dryer, bathrobes, slipper, one TV each in the room & living space with a cable connection, personal safe, refrigerator, iron box, laundry bag, tour guides & more. It was so spacious for my kid to have some fun running around the suite. Over all it gave us a very luxurious feel. And there couldn’t be a better way to pamper yourself.

Restaurants & Dinning Experience :

The resort offers 5 kinds of dinning experience , including the coffee shop at the lobby.

Al Bahar

Cuisine : Mediterranean

A Fusion of Moroccan and Asian cuisine , which will definitely tantalize your taste buds.

Azure

Cusine : South Europe,  the eastern Mediterranean and North African.

This time I couldn’t visit Azure due to time constraint. But I can recommend the place for there seas food & grills.

Mydan Restaurant

Its the best time of the year to dine at Mydan, being the weather so cool. When you dine in  there you can enjoy the marina front view at the same time. Staff was quite friendly. In lunch hours, when they serve buffet. We have asked for the A La Carte menu, and got our orders after a reasonable waiting time. Also, we had our dinner & Breakfast there. We got it complimentary when we booked our room. The buffet was extensive which includes live grilling station, Indian, Arabic, Intercontinental , Italian cuisines to choose from. Even the breakfast was a grandeur one. I am a egg lover, when comes to breakfast. I loved the live omelet counter, wherein I had a pleasure of choosing my toppings.

Naseem Lounge

Its a coffee shop & bakery, located right in the lobby area. Its perfect for a quick bit. You can sit there relax for some time with your coffee mug.

The Deck

This time I missed to visit this one as well. But I remember going there before. Its the perfect place for clubbing. And you can always unwind your day there with some good company, wine & Cheese. That’s the way I would like to do it.

Pool area & round the clock activities in the resort.

When I plan for a staycation, first thing which comes to my mind is the pool area & the spa, where I can relax. I went to Millennium having the same thoughts. Right after getting settled, we decided to take a resort tour after a light lunch. To our surprise the place was full of so much fun. There was live performance by there in-house music band “Vital Strands” . Meanwhile, we were informed about the activities which were going around the place. There was various activities for kids as well. They could go for a sand play “Castles in the Sand” or ” Face Art”, the artist was really good & she has a different tattoo for all the kids. Later we were informed about the treasure hunt “Chase the Cash”, which could be played in teams. The team consist of the entire family, if you don’t have a family you can get one there to play. And there were on spot cash prizes.

This isn’t it all, while having diner we were informed about a show which was suppose to take place post dinner. The group has come here from France to perform. The dance troupe is well know by the name ” Lookea Sultana”. they perform every night. The troupe members were very friendly, in morning hours they organize darts and other games for the guests. Even if you go alone, and want a company to play tennis, they will come n play with you. They have activities round the clock for all the age group. Until & unless you are too lazy to do nothing, as very well quoted by their GM Mr. Christoph Schleissing.

Guess what? There isn’t any extra charge for all the activities. If you book a room with them, you can enjoy it all for no charge. Isn’t that a great deal enough to book your rooms with them.

What to Pack:

Getaways are for relaxation and chilling so make sure to carry all comfortable outfits and nothing too fancy. For the day time pack casual dresses or shorts and a top. Since the location is picturesque try and carry bright colors.  For the pool, a swimsuit, sunscreen, coverups and a hat would be great. For the night a dress would be an ideal. Don’t bother carrying heels unless you want to dress up for the lounge.

Ideal for :

A romantic gateway or a family stay-cation.

Service :

Good service is all you need from the restaurant staff to lobby once. They were all so amazing  . Each and every guest were attended well by the restaurant staff.

What I loved the most:

  • I absolutely loved how the rooms have the luxury of space and serenity.
  • I loved the most round the clock activities, which gives an extra entertainment. I have never seen something like this before. Its definitely an added value for money.
  • Food & service is something I can’t miss here. It was all upto my expectations. It was amazing interacting with the entire team.
  •  The entire hotel staff wore a same colour t-shirt, which shows how dedicated they are towards serving there clients. It was so easy to identify them and to get any service related query solved in no time.
